<reviews itemIdentifier="nsh094"><review><reviewbody>Thomas Park covers a lot of ground in this organically numinous album as he conjures new sounds from field recordings and sounds derived from water, wood, and metal. “Certainty” and “Self-Guided” are highly rhythmic and percussive oriented with the former being smooth and upbeat and the latter granular and brooding. “Drips Dropped” and “Windchimes Dropped Ext” are near pristine minimal meditations based on water and metal, respectively. “Chop and Shake“ is an fittingly named minimal exploration of jerky processed sounds. “Drops Not Whips” and “Between Floors” are rather abstract percussive experiments where wood sounds are a key ingredient, although “Between Floors” includes some beautiful metallic tones in it’s final few minutes. A real highlight for me is “Meditation B” whose deep resonating beats and melancholic chant stays with me long after the music has stopped playing. If you’re looking for something noisy, dense, and chaotic, then tracks like “Two Worlds”, “Sheets and Poundings”, “Quiet Thunderstorm” (obviously an oxymoron), and “Window Rainy Day” will not disappoint you. A very satisfying and unique release from Mystified. -LAJ-</reviewbody>
